Sprouted Wheat Bread recipe:- Wheat, when soaked overnight and sprouted, and then baked to bread has much more nutritional value than the bread made from flour. Ezekiel bread is a good example of sprouted bread. However, in some parts of the world, Ezekiel bread is not easy to find in the supermarket. Moreover, if you want to bake Ezekiel bread at home, all the ingredients are also not easy to find. Hence I came up with this simple sprouted wheat bread recipe.

In this method, the wheat and the kidney beans are soaked in water till they sprout and then blended directly in a blender without transforming it into flour in a flour mill. So let's start baking.

Ingredients:

Wheat: 2 ½ cups

Dry kidney beans: 2 tablespoons (optional)

Honey:  ½ cup

Olive oil: ¼  cup

Active dry yeast: 7 grams (about 2 teaspoons)

Salt: 1 teaspoon

Warm water: 2 cups

 

Method:

STEP 1:

Soak the wheat and kidney beans in water overnight or till it sprouts. In colder places, it may take up to 3 days for sprouting properly.

STEP 2:

Blend the sprouted wheat and kidney beans in a blender and blend till the mixture becomes a smooth creamy texture.

STEP 3:

Meanwhile, add yeast to water, honey, olive oil in a large bowl.

STEP 4:

Add the blended mixture to the yeast mixture. Stir until well mixed, for about 10 minutes.

STEP 5:

Pour the dough into a greased loaf pan. Let it rise for 1 hour or till the dough rises to the top of the pan. Storing in a warm place is recommended.

STEP 6:

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius for 45 to 50 minutes or until loaves are golden brown.
